OnePlus 6 camera gets better with OxygenOS 5.1.9 update

OnePlus has been paying attention to the photography experience on the OnePlus 6, and that continues today with a handful of camera-focused features including in the OxygenOS 5.1.9 update.

The OxygenOS 5.1.9 will deliver improved clarity, better dynamic range, and more accurate edge detection in portrait mode. OnePlus says the new update will also improve focusing speeds and accuracy too.

The new update will also enable Google Lens support within the OnePlus 6 camera app.

This means you can simply launch the camera app to access Google’s machine vision tool which is capable of recognizing objects and landmarks in the viewfinder.

The manufacturer confirmed that the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will get Google Lens in the camera app via a firmware update “soon.”

The update is scheduled to start rolling out today, but you can find more information on the OnePlus forum post over here.
